So when I’m not doing concept work for World 3, I’ve been playig Super Metroid. Never beat it before, so I figured I should buy it from the Wii VC and do just that. Amazing game. So, I’ve gotten a few emails and such asking about puzzle elements in FPA, nothing overpowering, but what would you guys think of some sort of level or character progression in World 3?

Ah, Super Metroid. My favourite SNES game.
I think character progression would do great, especially in Fancy Pants.
So would everyone be devastated if I added an action button (A) for advanced stuff?
Hmm an action butten would be good. In the future, world 4 perhaps. I’d ad physics. Like jumping and handing onto a rectangle angled over a ball. The rectangle falls on your side because of your weight. and you stand on it. Then you send kabootle out to push a giant rock from a cliff witch hits the rectangle and you go flying!
You’d probabaly need to add a checkpoint system. I also wouldn’t do to many puzzles for fpm’s section. Mostly fpg because she is slower and it would be cool to use cabootle to do actions.
I’m not really sure if I would like an action button, but some puzzle like areas would be fun, maybe as a side area or minigame (as long as they are FANCY). I just always thought Fancy Pants should be runnning around at insane speeds. 😛
P.S. You will NOT defeat Ridley in Super Metroid. Nobody can…
Just baught it for the snes… But since i don’t own an snes I downloaded the rom for it. Soooo technicaly its not ileagal if I own the actual game right?
Technically if you own the game, you can have copies.
@Nyubis: How about META RIDLEY?!?!?!
Is he in Super Metroid?
Also, every time I log in here, I get logged out of the forum.
Actually, I don’t think Meta Ridley was in Super Metroid. I believe he was introduced in Prime.
I’m not that far yet. I find it to be a lot harder to find your way in super metroid then fuzion and zero mission.
What about GIGA Ripley?? O_O
Giga ripley? Sure you don’t mean bowser?
Hey Brad,
yes im going to start posting instead of filling your inbox.
There was a Ridley near the end of Metroid Prime 3 that was either giga ridley, gamma ridley, or something similar. To tell you the truth, he was not hard on easy. Heck, nothing was hard on easy. If you get the game and you’ve already played any of the other metroid prime games, SKIP EASY. Jump straight to veteran. After that you can try hypermode, But that one is intense. I’m having trouble getting past the second generator on the second planet.
DaxterSpeed: Well, no, not exactly. You have a license to play the ROM on the original medium, that being from the cartrige itself. At least that what Nintendo believes, and that’s held up in court before (not to mention, Sony destroyed BleemCast on similar grounds, only on a hardware side).
Then again, it’s also technically illegal to rip commercial CDs into iTunes.
Well I sure havn’t been!
come on make a new game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
I’m glad you guys are having such a nice conversation about how I may be braking the law.
Well no, I don’t know of anyone who’s been convicted of downloading a few ROMs, but most publishers have definitely been cracking down on ROM sites for awhile now.
I haven’t heard much about publishers cracking down on ROM sites.
Although I can see why they would start to do so; given the popularity of the Virtual Console and all that.
Yes!!! A buton Action!!!! I have always wanted that but never got arount to asking…
Acavado, I love hearing in depth criticisms about my games, honestly, that anyone even believes that FPA is worth critiquing is unbelievable awesome to me.
I have to agree with you there, I thought that the levels of World 2 were a huge step up from World 1, but that’s certainly not saying much, heh.
Setting is one of the big things that I want to I improve on with World 3, and being an old-school gamer, I’m going to pack ad much challenging gameplay as I can I to World 3, without getting in the way (I actually got complaints about the game being too difficult in some parts). If you could clarify, though, win which ways did you feel the levels were boring? That they were just too easy, there wasn’t enough variance in the gameplay, or the actual setting just wasn’t interesting (like, you couldn’t send someone a postcard from a level in W1 or W2), or there wasn’t enough interactivity (jumping over the candle in level 5 in World 2 doesn’t do anything, for example)?
I think it would be good if there was character progression, but I don’t really think Fancy Pants should talk, much like Link from legend of Zelda.
Of course we don’t him to “break the 4th wall” so let others do the talking.
I would say that, although the levels ARE works of art, there’s nothing particularly challenging about each one in progression. Perhaps new elements could be added along the way, making it more difficult to complete Level 4 than Level 1.
But new abilities for the character himself? That’s a tough one to decide on. Such an addition would be somewhat senseless, since you couldn’t replay the levels without having more abilities than you did the first time. This could be counteracted by altering the replay function, though…
Speaking of artfully crafted levels, will there be guest artists in World 3 as there were in World 2?
I think it would be a good one BUT tou need to put
way it’s on thare thow.
has to be cute
I think it would be nice to see some new moves, and possible some weapons to fight spidies with. Also, you could add some higher evolved spidies, such as you ahve small ones, You could ahve medium sized(medium lvl) and large spiders(harder lvl) With the lvles you could add special things to them, such as you did with mister ebil bunny and sleepy penguin, but not as hard. to conclude you would have to jump on him twice, kick him into a wall, then slide into him, thus killing thy foul beasty. :)Med, just slide, daze, *pickup* and throw.
** Added feature. picking up thins and throwing them. like spikes in the ground and having a botton. something would have to hold down the button or else they would come back again. you could put a med spidie in that general area. kick it to daze it, and throw it on the button. (no matter how many times you kick a med spidie, it doent die, only daze)
Hope i gave you some help ~~xX Miki Xx~~
on the ROM thing wat if i supposedly downloaded a bunch of ROMS. Would i get introuble if i downloaded like PS3 ROMS. and i feel so non accomplished because i have all the stuff in the first lev el for super metroid(SNES) and cant beat the first little robot thing that attacks when u get the ball bomb
