    Brad, I think you should rethink having more then three cutscenes. The beauty of FPA is its simplicity, the just,open the webpage and play sorta thing. Mirrors Edge 2D only had one cutscene. Maybe you should limit it to two cutscenes. One where you win, and one for the start of the plot. Maybe a minicutscene for a death in the boss room, but that should be just about it…

    @wallross: The beauty of World 3 not being Final Fantasy XXXVII is that they’re either really short or you can just walk away from them 🙂

    @wallross: Have a little faith! More like it’s a video game not a ride at Disney World amirite?

    As MW2 (single player) pats you on the hand and promises you you’re having any effect on the game at all.

    You have to understand that I wouldn’t play World 3 myself if it had too many cinematics or any sort of convoluted plotline. I HATE when games take away control and hold your hand.

    ‘Oh look at the cool thing your character just did! Aren’t you just like, SO AWESOME?!’

    A game should be a journey, not a story.

    @WR earlier post: I’m sure Brad will add an option to skip them.

    And I liked being able to see the development process of your animations, really does show a new light to the animations of FPM.

    This was a nice progress report. I love how deeper you are making the other characters, besides fancy pants man. One of the downsides of world 2 for me was the awkward bunny animations, but now you’re working more on that front, which is great.
    The platforming is always delightful to watch. This is going to be a great game just to “play around” after you beat it. 🙂

    Here’s a suggestion for FPM, though (even though you have loads of them already): At 1:03 he walljumps and backflips from the wall, thus facing right, just to hold on to a ledge on the left. There is no transition, so it looks a bit awkward, since he always hangs on a ledge facing THE LEDGE, so I think you should enable him to hang on to the ledge facing the other way, pretty much like you did with the walljumps, in which he can be facing the wall or the opposite side. This is also noticeable at 3:23.
    I am probably just nit-picking, but since you are such a perfectionist, I thought you might want to take a look at this.

    @PONTO I agree about that rabbit. But it does look like Brad won’t have an animation like that

    i cannot honestly belive, you didn’t let norris say hi…
    i mean, all you would have ha to do was go outside and grab im’.
    that would have my day… er, night. 😛

    This was a really good progress report, I don’t see what all the disappointment is about. Those were some awesome animations of Rainbow-Beard, he seems to have a lot of character, I am definitely looking forward to that cutscene. 😀 But why didn’t you want us to know what he jumped from? If it’s just, like, a pirate ship, that’s not a secret: Every pirate has a pirate ship. 😛

    … Unless it’s a SPECIAL kind of ship.

    And on to the enemies, you say they’re too hard? Were you talking about the pirates specifically, or just that you have been working on harder enemies, cuz it would be really encouraging if you are already working on them. 🙂

    P.S. I see you fixed the problem with the “Zs”.

    Hi, I have an idea and a question.

    For the idea, maybe during the game fancy pants man could use the pencil as a zip line and slide down a line at some point or do some other non-combat stuff with the pencil.

    Also, what are you planning for the music? Are you putting in new music? Are you putting in old music? If so, are you going to remix it in any way?

    i know yiou mean well, but as brad has said OVER and OVER again, he is in absolutely NO need of any more ideas for the concepts of the game, just feed back for the reports… thats all.

    Very interesting, I’ve been following this for some time. (In fact, I followed and beta-played World 2 as well.)

    Everything looks much more fluid, and it all flows very nicely. I’m also pleased that FPM can now backflip from a ledge hang instead of just straight jumping off, that little detail always irked me…

    The rolling down a slope and off it is nice, but is there going to be a way to grab the edge so as not to fall off? It’d be quite inconveniant to accidentally roll off and end up near the beginning of the level you had just traversed, for example.

    Since you’re all about making the characters more “real”, great job on Cap’n Rainbow Beard, by the way, would it be possible to get more FPM “standing around” animations other than the afro hair scene, and the eventual curl up in a ball and sleep? Something like jogging or backflipping on the spot, for example.

    So yeah, after several years of following your games and site, I thought I’d chime in, because your stuff’s great and I wanted to say that. Your stuff’s great.

    @j4ake: So do you think he should grab onto a ledge even with it’s really slanted?

    And yes, it definitely want to make a lot ore idle animations, but those are easily the longest animations FPM has, so they’re not very high priority at the moment.

    Yeah, Brad, the pirate animation is INCREDIBLE with a capital everything. I just don’t know how you do it. Well, I guess now I do know how you do it, but it’s still great. Rocked my socks off. Or maybe my entire feet. Or whatever. I mean, I do animation too, but I don’t ever think I’ll be that good.
    Anyway, …ninjas?

    Well, ninjas are enemies or at least NPCs (not entirely sure) but either way that means more sweet animation from Brad. That’s why I want to see them, don’t know about anyone else.
    (oh, and I was just kidding about the ninja dissing. :P)

      @HS – *counts animals* We have four: 2 cats (Chuck and Norris) and 2 dogs (Nellie and Maya). I’d been begging Brad for a ferret but promised him if we ended up with Nellie that I’d stop. I still bring it up every now and then though 😉

    so brad how come on the W2 demo it shows FPM falling over when you get to the tip of a platform and that didnt mack itz toh wurl too?

    I have a pretty cool idea that relates to the use of squiggles…i was thinking when you get a certain amount of squiggles you can do one special move on an enemy like you can ride a spider for like 30 secs or like take a mouses gun and have like 5 shots take a pirates sword for a bit and have it be stronger than your pencil and a different move relating to each creature…i know in your previous vids you said you were done making moves but i thought you might like the idea so yah…

    ps. i really appreciate how you are keeping the fancy pants fans like updated unless all the other game programmers when you just check gamesites randomly and see that the sequel you have been waiting for just game out
