You guys want to try out some mighty pencil combat in the Sneak Peek, I want some more Facebook Likes and Twitter Follows.
Would be nice to get some practice in before taking on those jerk pirates, no?
So, here’s the deal. If / when we hit 30,000 Likes and Follows put together, I’ll add the pencil, and everyone can start slicing away.
Currently at 8,660, but we’re climbing at a nice pace. Tell everyone you know! Heck, click on both yourself!
If we hit it soon, just think what else I could add to the Sneak Peek for a few more Likes / Follows ; )
First! I sure hope we get to use the pencil! I already like FPA on Facebook, but I don’t have a Twitter yet. Maybe I’ll make one….

This kind of reminds me of the “I’ll release Madeline MccAnn when I get a thousand likes” Facebook pages. Brad, seriously, EA is starting to turn you into a bit of a tool instead of the awesome indie that you are. The flash version of World Three will just feel like a massive advert now, instead of the awesome flash game that it is…
I’ll probably unfollow on Twitter just because of this…
I guess I could give you a nice Like on Facebook if I haven’t already.
And I could try mention FPA on Twitter some more, but with my gazillion followers (read: idk, about 15) I still won’t make such a big impact :<

But I guess FPA W2 had over 2 million plays for a reason.
IMO, 30,000 seems like way too much, but hey, it’s not my game.
Anyway, why not post it on Newgrounds and other sites you’re popular on? I mean, you’re sure to get a lot more if you post it on other websites.
Think about it this way, DS: Your 15 followers tell their followers who in turn tell theirs. Even if they all only have 15 followers, that is over 3000 people all together! [15*15*15=3375]

And World 2 has over 110 million plays π Sneak Peek already hit a million, once I add the pencil info to the main menu, numbers should start going up even more.
About 4k of those Facebook likes was in the last week, should go much faster soon.

Yeah, I’m following you on Facebook because I still care about your game and I enjoy playing it, but I have to say that the whole “I’ll give you Y if we get XXXX views!” is the kind of stuff I’m accustomed to on Youtube, not a site like this.
There’s a fine line between hyping and blatant overselling.

No. See, each of the 15 followers have 15 a piece! And each of those have 15. If the 15 each have 15, that is 15*15, not 15 + 15. π

Brad definitely replied to wallross… in the very next post.
Like Brad said, this is for the greater good.
He was able to get a surprisingly large amount of freedom from EA when making this game, which allowed him to make the game that he wanted and that he knew would be best game possible.
With that said, however, he needs to prove to EA that allowing him that freedom was worth it if he wants the chance to do it again. Sales numbers are the best way to do that, and advertising online is the best way spread the word and to get sales.
@EVERYONE: 30,000 is fine, sure it SEEMS high but that’s cuz it IS high. The point of a promotion is to PROMOTE somthing, in Brad’s case a lot of the promotion is going to come from the online community that’s known about him for years already (AKA “Word of Mouth”), however, in order to “encourage” us he’s decided to dangle a pencil in front of us and if we comply and WORK at getting word out there, we have the prospect of being rewarded for our efforts. It was never said this would be easy.

I know this doesn’t relate to this subject, but I have 2 questions. 1, is there a snailshell hole on the demo? And 2, no offense, but you keep saying “FPA coming to console in spring of 2011”. When of spring 2011??? march, april, may???:d Anyways, there’s something I’m really excited about. Iv’e got the technology, so I won’t have to be one of those dumb losers who can’t play it on the console version!!!
